Alex is passionate in her pursuit of her highest potential and is fueled by energizing, healing, and inspiring others to recognize and pursue quality in their lives too.
Alex’s wellness background is diverse. She has always been an athlete and has built a deep knowledge of movement across a wide spectrum of sports. Her body and spatial awareness was ingrained in her first sport, gymnastics. But as she grew older, she found more enjoyment leading team sports, like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. She graduated high school with ten varsity letters and was named Distinguished Athlete of her high school class. After high school, Alex began training for endurance events, completing a triathlon and many half-marathons. To improve her running, Alex added strength training and it didn’t take long for her passion to shift from endurance to power. She began weightlifting and competing in CrossFit in 2018 and continues today. Her experiences as an athlete have given her deep knowledge of anatomy, kinesthetics, nutrition, and psychology.
Curiously inspired by her father’s devotion to a daily Bikram yoga practice, Alex began practicing a long side him in 2010. In 2011, Alex found Bikram Yoga Santa Clara. She completed a 60-day Bikram challenge in 2014 (and practiced at least one Bikram 90 almost every day from September of 2014 until mid 2016) and fell deeply in love with the practice.
While studying Communications and English at Santa Clara University she wrote a thesis on happiness and sports. During this time she began a meditation practice. She later graduated from Seattle University School of Law and practiced business litigation at Dorsey & Whitney in Seattle. Although still maintaining her license as a lawyer, today Alex practices yoga instead of law.
She completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program with the Ashram in 2019 where she learned transcendental meditation (TM) from Gary Olson. She teaches Power, Bikram, Yin, and Kids Yoga.
